Submission Terms

Eligibility and Submission. I certify that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and that the content of my submission to the Jewish Joy Campaign (“Jewish Joy”) does not contain any image, likeness, voice, personal information, or other identifiable information of or relating to a person under eighteen (18) years old. I acknowledge that my submission of any content and the rights granted under these terms are voluntary. I agree that if my content is selected, my content will be featured across JDC's website and/or social media. I agree that my content may be edited for length, format, and cohesive design. I understand and agree that I shall not be entitled to any compensation in connection with my submission and/or JDC’s use of my content. I understand and agree that submission does not guarantee that my content will be included in Jewish Joy.

Media Release. I agree and understand that the content of my submission may include recordings or photographs containing my voice, name, and/or image. I grant to JDC, and any and all of its affiliates, successors, licensees, and assigns, the universal right to use my actual or simulated likeness, photograph, voice, personal characteristics, and other personal identification, in all manner and media whatsoever in, and in connection with Jewish Joy (including but not limited to publication on JDC’s websites and social media).

License. I grant JDC a limited, nonexclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, print, publish, display, broadcast, rebroadcast, or otherwise make available to the public any and all content contained in my submissions in connection with Jewish Joy, in whole or in part, in any and all media including but not limited to internet and digital materials. This license includes the right to edit, crop, resize, reformat, excerpt, caption, translate, adapt, combine with other content, and otherwise modify the content of my submission and to create and use derivative works based on my content, for those purposes. All rights, titles, and interests in my content will remain my sole property. I hereby waive any right to review any use by JDC of my content and agree that no such materials need be submitted to me for any further approval. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I waive any “moral” rights, or other rights with respect to attribution of authorship or integrity of such work as I may have under any applicable law. To the extent any such rights cannot legally be waived, I agree, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, not to assert or enforce those rights against JDC in connection with the uses permitted by these Terms. All rights under this paragraph are subject to any rights I may have under applicable data protection law.

Ownership. I agree that JDC shall exclusively own:

1. all materials that JDC creates in connection with Jewish Joy, including compilations that may include my content in full, partial, and/or revised form;
2. the selection, arrangement, editing, production, and compilation of my content;
3. all transcripts, captions, translations, summaries, annotations, metadata, and other materials created by or for JDC in connection with my content; and
4. all copyrights and other intellectual property rights arising from items (a)-(c) above or otherwise arising from JDC’s authorship, production, recording, editing, or other contributions to my content.

Representations. I represent and warrant that I created or otherwise own or control the rights legally necessary to submit this content and grant the rights described in these Terms. I further represent that:

• The content of my submission does not contain the image, likeness, voice, personal information, or other identifiable information of or relating to any person under eighteen (18) years old. I understand that I am fully responsible for ensuring that I do not submit such content.
• My submission does not contain any content owned by another person, or if owned by another person, I have obtained all permissions legally necessary to submit this content and permit JDC’s use of the content as set forth in these Terms. I understand that I am fully responsible for obtaining such permissions.
• I have obtained all legally necessary permissions from any person whose image, likeness, voice, personal information, or other identifiable information is included in my submission. I understand that I am fully responsible for obtaining such permissions.
• JDC’s use of my content as described in these Terms will not violate any third party’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other proprietary or personal rights. I understand that I am fully responsible for ensuring that no such third-party rights will be implicated.

Indemnification. I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold JDC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from and against any and all damages, allegations, claims, expenses, costs, and other losses and liabilities arising from my breach of any of the representations in the above paragraph.
